I took this photo whilst walking around North Melbourne. There's nothing special about Lothian Street, but I thought the sign with the brick warehouse behind it looked nice and "old worldly". The sign has the old Post Code "N. 1", standing for zone one in North Melbourne. This means that the sign was created before 1967. By the way: I hadn't realised, but the old "N. 1", "C. 1" style of post codes was only used in Melbourne (and part of rural New South Wales). Anthony Holmes > On 14th-15th March 2009 it was rather wet. We took a walk in the Melbourne Botanic Gardens and found lots of greenery dripping with water.

Anthony Holmes > This high voltage power tower is near the Newport Power Station.

Anthony Holmes > This is a series of three photographs taken near the sea wall between Hampton and Brighton Beach in Melbourne. The shutter speed was around a second to make the sea nice and soft.

Anthony Holmes > This shot was taken on 21st March 2009. It was taken to the later end of the magic period around sunset when it is still light. It was taken at 1600 ISO at 1/20th of a second on f5.6: so it was take a photo showing the tower of Victoria's Government being illuminated whilst there was still natural light on the trees and in the sky.

The fact that the yellow ensign is flying shows that Governor de Kretzer is at home.

Anthony Holmes > We were cycling around the Capital City trail when it started raining. Fortunately a thoughtful previous Victorian Government had constructed the Eastern Freeway, whose bridges gave us shelter from the worst of the rain. After it had mostly finished we continued our ride, and I came across this glistening tree. Shame about the low wire fence. I considered removing it, but restrained myself.

It's a photo of Princes Bridge in Melbourne with the lights of the Alexandra Gardens in the background. I'm not going to submit this photo, but I'm posting it here to remember some of the stuff I tried before (hopefully) getting a good photo that met this challenge in the competition.
